Upon arrival in Cape Town you will receive a private transfer to the hotel.  This evening you will meet the rest of the group and the Tour Director that will be with the group for the duration of the trip.

Today is filled with breathtaking landscapes, history, excellent food, vintage motorcycles w/sidecards and the unmissable South African penguins.  You will visit

  • Motorcycle sidecar ride from Chapman’s Peak to the hotel

Day 3

A Talk with Christo Brand (Nelson Mandela's former warder) and Visit Langa Township

After breakfast the group will depart for a visit to Langa Township.  Located on the outskirts of Cape Town your guide will walk you through Langa explaining the history, current day and what the future might hold.  Your guide Nathi provides an authentic experience.  This is followed by a quick visit for a drumming tutorial and if time permits a visit to see some of the art work being produced by youth in the community.  

You will be free to grab lunch near in the V&A Waterfront before the group meets Christo Brand.  Mr. Brand was a young man when he was assigned as warder of Nelson Mandela and some of his commrades.  He offers first hand knowledge of Nelson Mandela's experiences while imprisoned and shares personal stories of the deep friendship that developed between warder and prisoner.
